Our History
Families of individuals with brain injury started to get together in September 2018 and shared their ideas about how to start a nonprofit organization that would offer the opportunity allowing individuals and their family members to gather in a social setting and build friendships. The purpose was to reduce isolation of those individuals with a brain injury to participate in recreational activities to improve the quality of life for those with a brain injury.
The Social Brain was developed to enhance the Brain Injury Community through recreation, socialization and networking opportunities with others. The emotional connections through friendships is just as important, if not more to some as the rehabilitation they endure.
The Social Brain allows survivors and their families to engage in monthly events of interests such as sports programs, bowling, baseball games, art paint nights, nature walks and picnics. As more activities are planned and developed, so are friendships.
